2016 Red Shield Appeal Launch
Perth Arena Community Partner The Salvation Army have this week launched their 2016 Red Shield Appeal with a breakfast hosted at Perth Arena.
Held in Perth Arena’s Reveley Room and presented by Greg Pearce, over 250 guests attended the event including guest speakers the Honourable Tony Simpson representing the Government of Western Australia, Captain Naava Brooks from The Salvation Army’s Women and Children’s Refuge and the Chairman of The Salvation Army Western Australia Advisory Board, Mr David Airey.
This year the Red Shield Appeal is focusing on homelessness and The Salvation Army is asking the community to help end homelessness through making a donation.
The launch event raised over $136,000 for the 2016 Red Shield Appeal which will go towards helping more than 105,000 people in Australia who currently don’t have a secure and safe place to live.
The Salvation Army is a Community Partner of Perth Arena and receives support in a number of ways including through lost property donations and support of the annual Red Shield and Christmas Appeals.
