Saturday 30 March between 8:30pm – 9:30pm is Earth Hour. Millions of people worldwide are helping our planet by turning off the lights for one hour and joining the Earth Hour movement.
Last year, 188 countries participated in Earth Hour, including landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge, the Eiffel Tower, Big Ben, Empire State Building…and of course RAC Arena.
Helping the environment has always been one of our top priorities. AEG’s global sustainability program, 1Earth, is leading the way when it comes to reducing our environmental impact. It has been a decade since AEG first launched the program, and today more than 80 venues, teams and festivals around the world track monthly environmental performance metrics through the AEG 1EARTH program.
Our planet is important to us, we continuously research and develop ways to improve our environmental impact. One of the ways we do our part is through recycling materials like all our batteries, fluorescent tubes and electric lamps. Currently 70% of waste is diverted from landfill with an aim to be 100% following an improved organic recycling program. Our existing solar panels continue to perform well, and improved food packaging was introduced in 2018 to include natural fibre containers which are compostable and biodegradable and include 100% recyclable lids.
We’ll be joining the Earth Hour movement again this Saturday, and we hope you’ll go dark with us! Click here to find out more and register your involvement.
