GIVE THE GIFT OF HEALTH
It happens every year. Christmas is only 7 sleeps away, and despite promising yourself it would be different this year, you’ve left your shopping to the last minute…again. But never fear, you don’t have to brave the shops amongst all the fellow last minute shoppers! This year, give the gift of health with live music!
It sounds too good to be true, but it’s on the internet so it must be! Studies from Imperial College London have shown that live music can reduce stress, decreasing your heart rate, blood pressure and respiratory rate. Live music can also give you a 21 percent increase in a feeling of well-being – which beats doing yoga which increases your well-being by 10 percent, or walking your dog which is a measly 7 percent.
Not only that, but gigs are good exercise! Having a boogie to your favourite tunes can give you as much exercise as if you’d spent 30 minutes on a treadmill – we know which one we’d rather!
A study lead by UK music venue The 02 Arena even proved that going to concerts and seeing live music on a regular basis can even potentially extend your life by as much as nine years!
So jump online and buy a ticket to a gig, your gift receivers will thank you. And while you’re at it, consider the importance of self-care and grab a few for yourself. After all, you can’t put a price on health, right?
