Let’s go Wildcats, let’s go! Our very own Perth Wildcats have been crowned the 2019 NBL champs. After making it through to their 33rd consecutive finals campaign, the Cats took home their ninth Grand Final title, out playing long-time rivals, Melbourne United, in a best of five series. With these impressive stats under their belt, the Wildcats are now considered the most successful franchise in NBL history, and one of the most competitive professional sporting teams in the world.
Rock N Roll Hall of Fame
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame annual induction ceremony is just around the corner, and congratulations are in order. Making into the inductee’s class of 2019 will be The Cure and Def Leppard, whose award will be presented by Queen’s Brian May. Further cause for celebration is our girl Stevie Nicks, becoming the first woman to ever be inducted TWICE, after originally being inducted as a member of Fleetwood Mac in 1998.
It has been a busy time for Flume, whose documentary, When Everything Was New, is now available on YouTube for the world to freely consume. And just as we started wishing for some fresh Flume tracks – the man delivered! “Hi This Is Flume” has just dropped, with 17 fresh bangers for your ear holes to enjoy.
Post Malone has also been busy, with his new video “Wow” released just days ago. If you’re looking to spice up your dance repertoire, this video has some serious moves you should consider. All we can say is Wow, just wow.
The early 2000’s was a special time filled with chunky belts, too much eyeliner, and the king of social media, Myspace. Along with side-fringe selfies and quizzes to subtly let your crush (and the rest of the world) know you were into them, the platform was THE place for new bands to publish their music. However, this wonderful time in history has come to an end as Myspace admitted to losing 12 years’ worth of data from their website. Any photos, video and audio files that were uploaded between 2003 and 2015 will no longer be available on Myspace, due to a server migration project gone wrong. With over 50 million songs from 14 million artists gone from the site forever, Myspace has officially been dropped from our top 8 friends list.
Mark it in your diaries – Saturday March 30, 8:30pm to 9:30pm. Earth Hour is just around the corner and you can do your part by turning off your lights for just one hour to show your commitment to protecting Mother Earth. Last year, 188 countries participated in Earth Hour, with some of the biggest landmarks in the world getting involved, such as the Eiffel Tower, Big Ben, the Empire State Building…oh, and RAC Arena. Once again we’ll be switching off our lights to support the cause and help save our environment. Hope to see you (…or at least hear you) in the dark on March 30!
