Florence + The Machine
Start the countdown! Only 2 days, 6 hours, 55 minutes and 36 seconds…no wait 35 seconds until Florence + The Machine hit the RAC Arena stage. Not only that but they’re kicking off their entire High As Hope Australian tour right here in little old Perth! Make that 28 seconds.
Ah, the Golden Globes. A night of highs and lows, wins and losses, beautiful gowns and fashion disasters, all of which we get to judge whilst devouring ice cream from the tub in our pyjamas. And best of all, some of our faves got to steal the limelight! Lady Gaga’s song “Shallow” from “A Star Is Born” collected Best Original Song, whilst the motion picture “Bohemian Rhapsody”, based on the life of Queen’s Freddie Mercury collected two Golden Globes for Best Drama and Best Performance By An Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama.
Personally, though, we think the real star of the night was Fiji Water Girl. #FijiWaterGirl, aka model Kelleth Cuthbert, went viral after she photobombed dozens on celebs on the red carpet as she handed out bottles of water. Move over Gaga, a new Star Is Born!
Time is nearly up to get your Triple J Hottest 100 votes in! On January 27, Triple J broadcast the hottest songs of 2018 as voted by listeners Australia-wide. However, this is easier said than done. After an entire year of bangers, like Arctic Monkey’s “Tranquillity Base Hotel and Casino”, The Weeknd’s “Call Out My Name”, and “Better Now” by Post Malone it’s super hard to pick only 10 songs. Thankfully, a couple of killer artists like Alison Wonderland and The Rubens have helped us out by showing off their top 10. There’s some iffy choices in there, but mostly solid gold. Thanks guys!
You hear that? That is the sound of the Coachella line up dropping. And boy is it a big one this year. Tame Impala, Childish Gambino, Ariana Grande, Zedd, CHVRCHES and Solange, the list goes on! There’s a bit of a price tag considering the pesky plane ticket to California, but worth it for Khalid.
