Last Saturday saw the largest dinner ever held at RAC Arena – The 2020 Net Ball. The event saw the West Coast Fever and the West Australian Netball League join forces to celebrate this year’s season with the annual awards ceremony held at the Arena.

The night was certainly one to remember! Golden snapper from WA’s own Pilbara region, and pan roasted local chicken breast was lovingly prepared by our chefs, to accompany their delicious wild mushroom panna cotta and boulangere potatoes. Flowing beverages complemented the meals, and a range of heavenly desserts capped off the night, showcasing a mixture of flavours, colours and textures, including raspberry white chocolate profiteroles and mini lemon meringue pies.

It was a night of big numbers for the Arena, with 719 guests attending the event and 4000 glasses clinked over the night in celebration. The events team spent 16 hours preparing the main bowl into an incredible function space, with a further eight hours required to pack it all away.

Triple J Unearthed 4-piece band, Dulcie, brought the event to life, with a ripper performance of their biggest hits, which had attendees on their feet in seconds!

West Coast Fever shooter Jhaniele Fowler capped off her incredible year by being crowned the Club’s 2020 Most Valuable Player and Player’s Player of the Year. Goal attack Alice Teague-Neeld took home the Coach’s Award for her second consecutive year, and mid-courter Verity Charles scored the People’s Choice Award.

All departments of the RAC Arena staff joined forces to achieve this highly successful function, rivalling every banquet venue in Perth. From the technical team and Front Of House ushers, to Presentation Services, merchandise, Health and Safety team, assets and, of course, the catering staff, the team worked together to create a night to remember.
