After the Christmas rush and the long, lazy Boxing Day wind-down, we still have the biggest party night of the year to get ready for. With our gorgeous warm evenings, Perth is perfectly placed to celebrate New Year’s Eve.
Here are the best things to do to celebrate NYE in Perth this year.
Family-friendly and community events
Zoo Years’ Eve at Perth Zoo
This is a different kind of party – but you can still get wild. On NYE, Perth Zoo opens its doors until 7:30pm. You can spend the day getting up close with the animals, meeting the dinosaurs of Zoorassic Park, or taking in the sounds of roving musical acts, and then ring in the start of 2026 in a more relaxed setting. There’s a special celebration at 7:30pm that you won’t find anywhere else!
Hancock Iron Ore’s New Year’s Eve at Elizabeth Quay
After celebrations over the Christmas period, Elizabeth Quay comes alive once again for NYE in Perth.
Kicking off at 5pm, everyone is invited to come on down for family-friendly activities. You’ll find roving performers, a live DJ, and food trucks to keep you happy. Supreme Court Gardens hosts carnival fun rides, and there’s a mesmerising fireworks display that explodes at 8:30pm for the younger set.
(And for those of you who say on, another midnight display lights up the Perth skyline as you ring in the New Year.)
New Year’s Eve at Brewdog
Brewdog lets you celebrate the New Year together with a fun family-friendly event that encourages all ages to party. The kids can get on the dance floor at 6:30pm with a kids-only silent disco, and there are interactive photo moments, garden games, and a special balloon drop at 9pm to see in the New Year early.
With tasty craft beers and mouth-watering meals for the adults, it’s the perfect way for families to say hello to 2026 (while still getting to bed at a reasonable time).
NYE fireworks Perth
Where to find the best spot
Rooftops all around the city and Northbridge will come alive with fireworks. So to make the most of it, head to one of the rooftop NYE events, like Rooftop at QT, Aurora Rooftop Bar, The Aviary, Lil’s Rooftop Bar, or The Point Rooftop Bar and Restaurant. Anywhere that’s open to the sky, you’re in for a treat.
Alternatively, make your way up the hill to King’s Park and watch the fireworks across the skyline from a truly unique and beautiful vantage point.
Gloucester Park
Just a little out of town, Gloucester Park is hosting its own massive New Year’s event. There’s fun for the whole family, great food, live music, and of course fireworks at midnight that will light up the Swan River.
Mandurah
If you feel like getting even further out of town, Mandurah has you covered for New Year’s Eve. The Eastern Foreshore hosts a party for the whole family. Starting at 6pm, bring a picnic dinner and relax in style. There’s a special New Year’s Eve outdoor movie screening, before the real show stopper, which kicks off at 9pm with spectacular fireworks that bring the night alive.
