RAC Arena welcomes new community partners: Binar Futures, WA Wildlife, Inclusion Solutions and 20Talk

Western Australia’s home of live entertainment, RAC Arena, is thrilled to announce their community partners for 2025 to 2026 on International Day of Charity. Following an internal staff survey, Binar Futures, WA Wildlife, Inclusion Solutions and 20Talk will join the Arena’s existing long-time community partners Telethon, Ronald McDonald House Charities WA, The Salvation Army WA, and West Australian Music (WAM).

In operation since the venue’s 2012 opening, RAC Arena’s community partner program has donated almost $1.8 million to their chosen charity partners. Staff are actively encouraged and routinely given the opportunity to give back and support in a number of ways, ranging from volunteering their time to assist in a call centre and participate in special events, to donating plasma or making meals for patients.

RAC Arena General Manager Michael Scott said, “One of our core values at ASM Global is giving back to the communities in which we operate. Through this initiative, we are able to work together with the generosity of the people of WA to give back to our partners who work tirelessly to serve their clients.”

The arena’s Partnership Manager, Emma Toovey added, “We are so delighted to have Binar Futures, WA Wildlife, Inclusion Solutions and 20Talk join our program and welcome back our long-term community partners. I look forward to working with these inspiring organisations and seeing what we can achieve together.”

In addition to gifting funds, RAC Arena has donated thousands of event tickets and prizes for auctions, hosted events, supported with complimentary hire of function rooms, and purchased tickets to partner events. Staff have enjoyed volunteering – preparing and packing meals, donating blood and participating in fundraising events like Movember and charity walks.

Mark McCrory, General Manager for Channel 7 Telethon Trust said, “Since 1968, Telethon has been dedicated to supporting sick and vulnerable children across the State. Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of the WA community, Telethon has raised more than $688 million over 58 years, making it the most successful children’s Telethon fundraising event in the world. For the past four years, RAC Arena has been a fantastic partner and home to the Telethon Weekend broadcast and family festival, providing a world-class venue where the energy, emotion, and community spirit of Telethon comes alive. We are incredibly proud of our ongoing partnership with RAC Arena and its staff whose continued support, professionalism, and alignment with our mission helps deliver real outcomes and hope for WA kids and families in need.”

Peter King, CEO at Ronald McDonald House Charities said, “When a child becomes ill or injured, it impacts the whole family. At Ronald McDonald House Charities WA, we provide essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families and promote healing when children need healthcare. We’re truly grateful for RAC Arena’s continued support in providing meaningful experiences that create lasting memories for the families we serve.”

Warren Palmer, State External Communications Manager at The Salvation Army added, “We are delighted that RAC Arena have extended our partnership for another year. This collaboration has been an incredible opportunity to work alongside RAC Arena to make a real impact in supporting those doing it tough. The team at RAC Arena has shown a deep commitment to making a meaningful difference, and we are proud to continue working together to bring hope, dignity, and practical assistance to West Australians in need.”

In 2024, RAC Arena’s Concert Superpass Charity Raffle raised $55,000 for The Salvation Army, providing 110 nights of accommodation for Western Australian families who faced homelessness, as well as helping 48 families cover essential household bills, and providing 65 Christmas hampers for families struggling through the cost-of-living crisis.

For just $10, one lucky winner will walk away with 2 tickets to each concert on RAC Arena’s 2026 calendar, with funds raised going towards The Salvation Army’s Christmas Appeal.

The 2025 Concert Superpass Charity Raffle is now open with tickets available to purchase through www.racarena.com.au until October 20.

ABOUT BINAR FUTURES

Binar is the Noongar word for meteor. The Dreamtime story tells us that when harsh times came to Earth, the Spirit Mother lifted her children high up in her arms where they would be safe as stars. When her children on Earth are in need of help, the Spirit Mother sends her star children home in the form of meteors. The young people of Binar represent their origins on their jerseys with artwork painted by First Nations artist Nerolie Bynder. The Binar story speaks to a culture that values community, family, and connection to country. These values are close to our hearts as we proceed from excellence in sport and education to excellence in all arenas of life. By bringing young Australians into contact with First Nations culture, we create pride in identity, confidence in self, and care in community. Like the Spirit Mother, we protect and nurture. We create stars whose light will guide the way for future generations.
