Austadium Arena of the Year

Earlier this month, it was announced that RAC Arena had been voted by the public as Australia’s Best Indoor Arena in the 2023 Austadiums Awards. We were incredibly honoured to receive this accolade, which came off an exciting year full of events such as UFC 284, Telethon, United Cup, Lizzo and many more.

Congratulations also to our fellow VenuesWest venues, Optus Stadium, for taking out Best Stadium and Best Cricket Ground, and HBF Park for winning the Best Rectangular Stadium category. Thank you to all who voted and for your ongoing support.

Game on.

RAC Arena hosted the team at VenuesWest for a ‘friendly’ game of basketball in what was coined the inaugural Etherton-Scott Cup, named after VenuesWest CEO, David Etherton, and RAC Arena GM, Michael Scott.

The match included player walkouts, trophies, a national anthem performance, an appearance from an ex-Wildcats legend, and a whole lot more. Thank you to the VenuesWest team for coming along and congratulations on your well-deserved victory.

Feel free to check out the video below for a recap on all of the fun.

Let’s get ready to rumble!

In exciting news for all West Australians, on the last day of January it was announced that Australia’s own fighting legend, George Kambosos Jr, will be taking on Ukrainian fighting legend, Vasiliy Lomachenko, in an IBF Lightweight World Title fight at RAC Arena on Sunday May 12.

The event is expected to bring in a number of visitors to Western Australia and Perth that are keen on watching history unfold. The fight itself will also be part of a world title tripleheader with two additional world title fights to be announced in the coming weeks.

Wildcats waltz into the finals

The Perth Wildcats have locked in their place in the 2023-24 NBL Finals after downing the South East Melbourne Pheonix in their final away game of the month. The Red Army would have been cheering them on from afar, just as much as they had been when the Wildcats played three home games at The Jungle in January: winning two of the three.

Details on finals and ticketing information will be released closer to the end of the home and away season.
