Top Tips for Hosting the Ultimate Christmas Feast

Feeling anxious about hosting your annual Christmas feast this year? Fear not! With some top tips from our functions team we’ll have your feast going from zero to hero!

1) Spread the Word
Everybody loves receiving an invitation, and when you’re short on time electronic is definitely the way to go! Keep your invites short, snappy and filled with Christmas cheer.
The top tip from RAC Arena’s multimedia executive? “Keep your wording simple and avoid clutter on your invites.  Better yet, be brave with your colours! Who says you have to stick to greens and reds”.

2). Set the Scene
Every festive feast needs a merry setting. A crisp white tablecloth is always the way to go when leaning towards colourful centrepieces. Baubles in a vase is a super effective centrepiece, without breaking the budget as well as spray painting pinecones. Also, Christmas crackers are a great way to add some colour and fun.

3) Prep Ahead
Don’t leave it all till the last minute. As any great chef knows, prep saves panic!
RAC Arena Executive Chef, Paul Beard, recommends prepping as much as possible before the day will save you from stress. “Have your vegetables chopped and ready to go in the fridge. Sweet treats can be made up to three days before, while your plum pudding can also be made days ahead. No one likes a last minute Christmas Day dash”.

And in the wise words of our Partnership Coordinator, “clean as you go to avoid hours in the kitchen after dinner!"

4) Get Grooving
No feast is complete without a jolly backing track! Select your favourite Christmas playlist and set it to play from the arrival of your guests till their departure. Stuck for where to look? We’ve got you covered with a Spotify playlist of all our favourite artists!

5) Enjoy!
Sit back, relax and enjoy your fabulous festive feast! You’ve earned it.

Better yet, skip the steps and head straight to #5 by getting in touch with the RAC Arena functions team! We’ll make your next event one to remember!
