It's the most wonderful time of the year.  With the kids jingle belling, and everyone telling you be of good cheer… But how can you, when you haven’t organised the perfect Christmas playlist?

Never fear, we’re here to help you out. Say goodbye to those same boring carols you dish out every year and hello to the ULTIMATE CHRISTMAS PLAYLIST.

#1 Kick off your playlist with the king of Xmas – Michael Bublé with “It’s Beginning to Look A Lot like Christmas”. Bubes will put you in the right holiday mood, and with a sprinkling of bells throughout you’ll be ready to jingle with the best of them!

#2 At this point, your Christmas crew is going to think this is just your standard, everyday festive playlist. However, they could not be more wrong! Turn up the speakers, it’s time for Bob Dylan’s “Must Be Santa”. Not only is this a surprise banger, but you can actually hear every word Dylan says, making it the perfect sing-a-long!

#3. Did you know The Killers did a Christmas track? Well, they did. And it’s amazing. And also about a homicide. But mostly just amazing. “Don’t Shoot Me Santa” is a must-have on your Christmas playlist for all your rock carol needs.

#4 Phew! Time to catch your breath, mellow out, and maybe help yourself to a mulled wine or two. Bring out Florence + The Machine’s cover of “Last Christmas”. It’s dreamy, it’s chilled out and it’s Florence – what more could you ask for?

#5. Don’t let the party die down! Leap back in time to 1973 with Elton John’s “Step Into Christmas”! It’s upbeat, fun and just what you need to up the energy at your Christmas party.

#6. What kind of playlist experts would we be if we didn’t include some hearty Aussie talent? We’ve put all of our faves together: Human Nature and Delta Goodrem teeming up for “Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow”. Gather your carollers, segregate the do-whoppers from the melody singers, and turn up your boombox!

#7. A Christmas playlist wouldn’t be complete without Sam Smith. Actually, this is just a good rule of thumb for all playlists. A healthy dose of Sam Smith is the secret ingredient to any delicious playlist. “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” will have you silently weeping into your eggnog and reaching for a stocking to dry your eyes on. But you know, in a good way.

#8. We think more Christmas songs should include the word “Shawty”. Luckily, Justin Bieber’s “Mistletoe” includes the word ten times. We’d prefer at least eleven times, but we’ll take what we can get.

#9. Still confused about what holiday we’re celebrating? If yes, we’re a little concerned, but nevertheless, Celine Dion has your back. “So This Is Christmas” is the perfect song to remind you that you still have several hours left to party, and four minutes of Celine to enjoy.

#10. Unleash your inner child with the Wiggles, “Go, Santa, Go!” Even better, work off your Christmas pudding by doing all the dance moves from the video clip. Actually, after doing the full song you probably deserve more pudding. Go ahead, treat yo self!
